Other Bus Service in the New Orleans Region
- Jefferson Transit (www.jeffersontransit.org): Four transit routes into New Orleans. The base fare is $1.10. The fare to cross the river is $1.60. The fareboxes accept $1, $5, $10, $20 dollar bills and all U.S. coins and provide change in the form of a value card that can be used for future fares.
Transfers are available from the driver for 50?. They are not valid between JeT and RTA buses (Orleans Parish). They are valid only between the lines within the system from which they are issued.
- Eastbank Route: Runs along Veterans Memorial Blvd. and goes to Canal Blvd./City Park Ave. to connect with RTA's 42-Canal Street, 27-Louisiana, and 91-Jackson-Esplanade buses and the 47-Canal Cemeteries streetcar.
- E2-Airport Route: Runs along Airline Dr. and goes to Carrollton at Tulane to connect with RTA's 27-Louisiana and 39-Tulane buses.
- E3-Kenner Local Route: Goes to Carrollton at S. Claiborne where it connects with RTA's 12-St. Charles, 39-Tulane, 16-Claiborne and 20-Nashville routes, and at South Claiborne and Leonidas Street with RTA's 32-Leonidas bus.
- Westbank Routes: Two routes provide service from the Gretna/Wilty Terminal to the New Orleans CBD - the Lapalco and Westbank Expressway routes.
- Baton Rouge Bus to New Orleans
- LA SWIFT (www.laswift.com) is an emergency bus service designed to transport displaced New Orleans area residents with no transportation between Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and points in-between for jobs, job searches, and similar recovery efforts. - Fare: There is no charge to ride LA Swift. The program is funded by FEMA in cooperation with CATS and RTA (the Baton Rouge and New Orleans transit systems) and coordinated by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the Louisiana Department of Labor.
- Stops: There are five stops: Two in Baton Rouge, one in Sorrento, one in LaPlace, and one in New Orleans. Some trips run express from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, and others make the intermediate stops.

- New Orleans: The Crescent City Connection Division of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development operates three ferry crossings across the Mississippi River as an integral part of the greater New orleans area urban mass transit system.

Amtrak Train and Greyhound Bus Station
- Amtrak Trains: The New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal (NOUPT) is the main train station in New Orleans serving Amtrak passenger trains. Amtrak also operates a coach and engine yard near the terminal. Reservations are required. - Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) www.flymsy.com: Commercial air service began at Moisant Field in May, 1946. In 1959, a new terminal and two new concourses were dedicated. The official name of the airport was changed in 1960 from Moisant Field to New Orleans International Airport. The first major expansion occurred in 1974 with the addition of two new concourses at the east end of the main terminal. In August 2001, the Airport's name was changed to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in honor of the famous native born musician's 100th birthday.

Taxi Cabs
The taxis in New Orleans are a "Horse of a different color." Many taxis are privately owned, so they will look different from each other. Rates vary, but approximate rates from the airport are $21 for up to two passengers. For up to five passengers the fares are approximately $40.
