On Saturday, March 28th, at 10 in the morning, 10,000 New Orleanians
will unite at Armstrong Park to declare as one "Yes, We Care." Lead by brass bands, folks will come from all parts of the city to sign and announce a ceasefire in New Orleans. This event will be the largest gathering in the city's history to address the problem of violence in New Orleans. United for Peace in New Orleans would like to show the world that yes, the artist of New Orleans care about that kid on the corner, about that mother weeping, about that addict lost to drugs and violence. We will be painting salvaged doors generously donated by The Bank to surround the park with images of Peace, Love and Hope. The door can be a vision of Peace or Love or Hope in New Orleans or it can be on the theme of "Yes, We Care." You decide. If you are interested in painting a door to be displayed on that historic day, please respond with your address and three times that I can drop off the door. We have a very small window of time to get these doors done, so they must be finished by Monday March 23rd when they can be picked-up. Thank you and God Bless. Peace be with you, Charles Anderson www.yeswecareno.com |
