Rebuilding Together New Orleans (RTNO) is a program of the Preservation Resource Center and has been rebuilding the homes of elderly or disabled low-income homeowners in New Orleans since 1988. By reinvesting in and restoring the existing housing stock of the city, we can bring homeowners displaced by Hurricane Katrina back to their former homes while providing a model for restoring and preserving New Orleans’ historic neighborhoods. Families that return to their homes—rather than live in exile or in a trailer—sustain a constant, stable, healthy living environment while rebuilding equity and regaining financial independence.
