Ochsner Baptist Medical Center, formerly Baptist Hospital, has deep-rooted history in Uptown New Orleans. Since 1926, generations of New Orleanians have chosen to have their babies here. The hospital has always been a leader in cardiology and cancer care as well.
Ochsner is currently operating the New Orleans Surgery and Heart Institute at 2626 Napoleon Avenue, which includes general, reconstructive, orthopedic and plastic surgeries, as well as diagnostic cardiology. NOSHI houses ten inpatient beds, four operating rooms and a cardiac catheterization lab.
Ochsner purchased the historic campus on October 1, 2006. Please note that, as a result of Hurricane Katrina, many of the center’s previous services are not yet available, including emergency, obstetrics and cancer care. Renovations are underway.
