Cheering with Carly Patterson, 2004 Olympic Champion
 Dominican's Cheerleading Captains and Co-Captains, along with other area cheerleaders, were invited to take part in a Ch. 6 exclusive interview with 2004 Olympic Gymnast and Louisiana native Carly Patterson. Melanie Hebert, DHS c/o 1998 conducted the interview.

Textbook Covering for CASA
|
 Members of the Student Council covered student textbooks for $.25. Not only were they raising money for CASA, the Student Council charity this year, but also began their "going green" campaign by using grocery bags from Langenstein's and Whole Foods.

 It was a great sense of accomplishment when a textbook was successfully covered.

| Over the two days of registration and orientation, Dominican students received their schedules, new students were welcomed, learned the campus with a MapQuest game, met their teachers, and enjoyed a skit by the Student Council to introduce the 2008-2009 theme. Dominican High School receives accreditation again
 President Cynthia Thomas and Principal Carolyn Favre stand with members of the Quality Assurance Review Team at the conclusion of the AdvanceED accreditation process as Dominican once again received its accreditation.
